I am supporter of the HeliOS project, as well as a owner/operator of a HeliOS franchise. I made the GnoMenu in the realization that there are no children orientated menus for GnoMenu. Its a fairly common oversight in the Computer Industry, actually. So I asked myself what would my five year old son like in a menu for Linux? I have to say I am becoming a big fan of vStyler's work. The menu pattern he created for his Odyssey theme is way cool. Even though the theme itself was not to my taste I liked that start menu. So I cleaned it up and put my own twist to it. The hardest part about the theme was getting the Icon Labels to display. (Computer, Documents, etcetera.) I tried having the labels be a part of the buttons but I couldn't get it display no matter what I did. So I added them into the XML code for the menu theme as separate code lines as Labels. That actually worked much better than I expected, and keeps the labels strictly as labels, not clickable items.

Prowler Menu

0 min read
Made many cosmetic improvements to the Prowler GnoMenu Theme. I am very happy with how it came out. James is still plugging along with the Metacity and Gtk theme for Prowler. There are a couple of things that need to be done to the current look that are immediately obvious but its coming along nicely.
